Hi Everyone, Chiara here! Christmas is my absolute favorite time of year! Ever since I was 5 years old, I always wanted something special from Santa, a puppy! Who wouldn't want a furry friend to play with? As I grew older, I realized getting a dog for Christmas wasn't really an option. My older brother is REALLY ALLERGIC. I did tons of research on "hypoallergenic dogs" and thought I had it all figured out! Then, I talked with my pulmonologist about getting a dog. He said the protein people are allergic to is not only found in the dander but also in the dog's saliva and urine. So unless I could find a dog that didn't drool, lick, or pee, I was out of luck! Needless to say, no dog is really "non-allergenic." So, instead of asking for a dog for Christmas, consider asking for something more "asthma friendly." Fish always make great pets!
