With the dog days of summer upon us, there is no doubt that swimming is an excellent form of exercise and a great way to stay cool. However, we need to be mindful that chemicals associated with swimming pools & water parks (especially the indoor ones) can trigger asthma. After spending time at the pool, our youngest son, Luca, becomes symptomatic. I spoke with our Pulmonologist about it, and have decided to skip the pool on days we can smell the chlorine. Using his rescue inhaler before swimming is also an option. I wanted to share this article incase any of you have experienced what we have.
